from any File System the Domino server can access, or locally on each users PC. So for example the Admin could index g:\docs\marketing\*.* and make it available as "Marketing Files" to selected users (or all users). Users can also index and search files on their PCs, meaning they can search their PC at the same time as Mail, Mail Archives, Server databases etc. This function is controlled by a separate database (the File Indexer DB), so if you want to set it up please let me know. Also please note that you don't even need to search Notes data, you could for example use the FTSM to search only File Systems.
